Jimmy Manley of Pendleton, SC has published his first novel, "The Civil War Started For Me At Old Hunter's Store" and I sure enjoyed reading it.
The novel begins with Jimmy visiting the Pendleton District Commission which is housed in Old Hunter's Store. When he came out, he decided he better visit the public restrooms in the back of the store. A storm came up and everything went dark and the next thing Jimmy knew, he was back in the time of the Civil War. Jimmy Manley is known for his story telling ability and his talent for spinning a yarn. Well, this time he will take you back in time with him and you will feel like you are actually experiencing the Civil War right there with Jimmy Manley.
This book can be purchased at Still On The Square in Pendleton which is next door to the Village Baker and Cafe.

Happy 4th of July!
The 4th of July is a time to celebrate our country by displaying our red, white and blue, watching fireworks, eating barbecue, and enjoying our friends and family. It is a time to reflect on the sacrifices made by the men and women of our military and for that reason I created this page: 8 Books - 8 Wars - 8 American Military Heroes . This will be my summer project to read the books that I have listed here and to further appreciate what our military does for our country each and everyday. God Bless America.
